During his performance at the 2019 Crossroads Festival in Dallas, Peter Frampton brought an old friend - and the festival's organizer - Eric Clapton, out onstage.
You can watch the duo's searing cover of The Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" above. Remarkably, it's the first time these two guitar heroes have ever played together in public.
"It's been a dream of mine for many, many years - decades - and I can't believe it's going to happen right now," Frampton said by way of introduction. "I'm going to invite out a friend I've known for a long time, but we've never played together. Mr. Eric Clapton!"
Frampton is currently in the midst of his final North American tour, following the announcement of his diagnosis with Inclusion-Body Myositis, an inflammatory muscle disease that he says will eventually leave him unable to play guitar.
