Composer & singer, Irmgard Farden Aluli (1911-2001). Many rank "E Maliu Mai" as "Auntie Irmgard's" best song of over 200 songs she has written. The song was written for her husband, as well as to be played at weddings. The Kamehameha School's 93rd Song Contest paid tribute to her in story and song celebrating Aunty Irmgard Farden Aluli: A Musical Journey. That year the senior class performed "E Maliu Mai".
